Taxes

Tax environment

The Höfe district is known for a competitive tax environment. The effective burden depends on the municipality, year, company profile and applicable international rules. JCP does not provide tax advice; a licensed Swiss fiduciary or tax adviser should calculate the position before any location decision.

  • Double taxation agreements with China, India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt and Morocco
  • Groups with an annual turnover of EUR 750 million or more pay at least 15% under the OECD minimum tax rules

Banking and stability

Banking and financial environment

Cantonal bank with state guarantee

The Schwyzer Kantonalbank is backed by an unlimited guarantee of the canton of Schwyz.

Swiss franc

Low inflation and a stable currency for contracts, savings and pricing.

Zurich financial centre

Banks, insurers, fiduciaries and lawyers within reach. Opening a company account requires a complete compliance file; we help you prepare it, but the bank decides.

Services

Our services

Switzerland Global Enterprise, cantonal promotion agencies and Euresearch provide valuable first information; we recommend using them. JCP complements them with company-specific research, direct outreach and sustained commercial work.

Legal and tax advice is given by licensed partners, not by JCP.

Company formation: where a Swiss company makes sense, JCP coordinates the formation process with independent notaries, fiduciaries and banks; each provider and authority retains its own decision-making responsibility. A Swiss entity is not a workaround for programme or sanctions restrictions.

Plain facts about EU funding

Participation in Horizon Europe

  • Many non-EU organisations can participate in Horizon Europe, but eligibility, role and funding depend on the action, call, country and ownership or control.
  • EU funding goes automatically to organisations in EU member states, associated countries such as Switzerland, Tunisia, Egypt and Türkiye, and a list of low- and middle-income countries including Morocco, Algeria, South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria. Organisations from China, India and the Gulf states are not funded automatically.
  • For the 2026–2027 work programme, legal entities established in China are in principle not eligible to participate in Innovation Actions or Research and Innovation Actions unless the applicable work programme or call explicitly provides otherwise.
  • Formal negotiations on India’s association to Horizon Europe opened on 17 July 2026, with association aimed for 2027; until it applies, current third-country and call-specific arrangements apply.
  • A European or Swiss subsidiary is not a workaround for programme restrictions: it must be a genuine operational entity, perform the project work and satisfy eligibility, ownership and control requirements.
